Congratulations to Tyler Pinkerton, Indiana, for
exhibiting BFW Whitney as the Champion AOB Female at the
2012 Michigan Beef Expo. Whitney was the high selling
female (lot 21) on our October 2011 club calf sale.
Thank you Seven Pines Ranch (Don and Bev Pogliano),
Iowa, for purchasing BFW Eye Opener E147W.
We
experienced a mild winter, making calving feel a little
less labor-intensive. We had a couple dozen
late-January babies born which is unusual for us and has
drawn out the calving season some. Our February online
sale through Breeders’ World went well, merchandising
all fall calf lots to CA, GA, LA and TX. Our bred,
Maine-Anjou female we had consigned to Kearney calved
before the event so she’s been retained in our program.
Thanks to all who expressed interest in looking her up
at The Classic. As of May, we are implanting embryos
and are a.i. breeding full-scale. Pastures had a
setback due to an April hail storm. Thankful we
received four inches of rain in that same storm,
