14 MITTENS TO 2008 DENVER!
The crew and cattle made the
trip to Denver in good shape. Our Livestock Center Herd
Display Exhibit is Space 64, and our regular display in the
Yards is Pen 2315.
We will be participating in the AMAA Cattlemen’s Choice Sale
(5 bulls), ACA Peak of Performance and Style Show/Sale (2
females, 1 bull) and AMAA Class Act Sale (3 females). Refer
to the AMAA and ACA websites to view sale catalogs.
Sires of our Denver cattle are Irish Whiskey, Lifeline,
Lutton, Special Edition, and our bulls, Mitten Man, Whiskey
For My Men and American Jazz.
Our herd sire display consists of 1 female and 2 bulls.
Since these private treaty cattle are not cataloged
anywhere, we’ll provide some information here:

BFW Blackbird 702
Sire: EXAR Lutton 1831
Dam: EXAR Blackbird 1882
Birthdate: 2/15/07
This Angus female is
a full sister to EXAR Blackbird 6902, Division II
Calf Champion at the 2007 junior nationals in Tulsa,
exhibited by Sydney Schnoor, Chowchilla, Calif. The
Lutton’s really have a great show look. We have two
more full sisters and a full brother available at
the farm as well.

BFW 654 Yellow Tag (Bull)
Sire: BFW Mitten Man Q35P
Dam: Impulse/Grissley Mitten
Birthdate: 3/10/07
Perhaps our most
“clubby” bull. 654 sells in Denver or he’ll return
to our program. PHAF and THF. Mitten Man progeny
represents our largest Denver sire group. 654’s dam
is an e.t., from our most profitable Chiangus mating
of our Gidget cow to Impulse. 654 is eligible for
double registration as a Mainetainer (1/2 Maine) or
as a 1CM. |
BFW 64J Orange Tag (Bull)
Sire: Irish Whiskey
Dam: Leachman Saugahatchee
x Lucky Buck’s dam
Birthdate: 8/27/06
This
aged bull will be attractive to many! He is semen
tested with a breeding soundness examination
certificate. PHAC and THF. 64J’s dam is a donor
cow in our program, Ima Diva. He can be registered
as a Mainetainer (3/8 Maine with the balance Simm/Angus) |
|
We have
a special offering, consigning Mitten Man’s full
brother to the Cattlemen’s Choice Sale. This bull’s
name is “North Wind” and he is a PB Maine-Anjou.
Additionally, we’ll have two, Mainetainer bulls
(full brothers) in this sale out of a PB Charolais
cow so their haircoats are light…one yellow and one
white/smokey. Lifeline is the sire of these two
E.T. bulls.
Their dam was bred by the CSUF Ag Foundation,
Fresno, Calif.
She was shown extensively in Oklahoma and southern
Kansas.
As
always, we look forward to seeing old friends and
making new acquaintances at Denver! |
