Due to Jason and Josh choosing to focus time and energy on family and farming, we have made the tough decision to disperse our show cattle herd. This was an extremely difficult choice to make due to the emotional bond we have developed with these females and we believe their potential is unlimited. Because we have always been short on pasture, we have culled very aggressively over the years with only the elite females earning their stay in our herd. Also, with the lack of pasture, we have not had any extra room for dedicated recip. cows. As a result, we haven't been as aggressive with flushing embryos like we could have been. Many of these cows should be flushed due to their consistent ability to put high dollar calves in our sale year after year. We have consistently sold 60-70% of our calves born in our Pro Tour calf sale and have averaged over $3,700 per head over the past 5 years! With the club calf industry getting to be such a competitive business, here is an opportunity to add some high potential pregnancies to your herd for your 2011 calf crop and elevate YOUR program in future years as well.
